3 dead, 1 wounded in Car­car shoot­ing

Three peo­ple died while an­other one was in­jured in a shoot­ing in­ci­dent at Si­tio Bon­bon, Barangay Ocaña, Car­car City early morn­ing yes­ter­day.

Car­car po­lice­men iden­ti­fied the vic­tims as Premi­tivo Gemo and Raprap Navares, who both died on the spot, while Donde Car­ba­jal died upon ar­rival at the hospi­tal.

Sher­win Car­ba­jal Gemo, who was wounded, sur­vived the at­tack.

Based on the ini­tial in­ves­ti­ga­tion of the Car­car Po­lice Sta­tion, two uniden­ti­fied sus­pects, who were wear­ing full-faced hel­met, shot the vic­tims while they were drink­ing at Premi­tivo's res­i­dence.

Ocaña Barangay Cap­tain Dario Ramos said the vic­tims have no deroga­tory records in their barangay.

"Kung sa tinud-anay lang, murag wala pani record mga bataa." said Ramos.

The Car­car City po­lice are cur­rently in­ves­ti­gat­ing the case to iden­tify the sus­pects.

They are look­ing, how­ever, into the drugs an­gle as a pos­si­ble mo­tive of the in­ci­dent.

Cebu Provin­cial Po­lice Of­fice Di­rec­tor Manuel Javier Abru­gena ad­vised the Car­car po­lice to be vig­i­lant in their op­er­a­tions and fur­ther probe on the cir­cum­stances be­hind the shoot­ing in­ci­dent.

"Sa at­ing Chief of Po­lice ng Car­car, be vig­i­lant sa kani­lang po­lice op­er­a­tions and, at the same time, dig deeper sa pangya­yaring ito." said Abru­gena.
