Bosconians rule boys 15 division of Aboitiz Football Cup
The Don Bosco Technology College silenced Giuseppe FC, 3-0, to clinch its fourth championship in the 20th Aboitiz Football Cup yesterday at its own turf in Barangay Punta Princesa, Cebu City.
The Bosconians successfully ruled the boys 15 division with Paul Joshua Mapula scoring the first goal with only a minute down in the game.
DBTC was aggressive the entire game as Paul Joshua Mapula registered the team's second goal before the first half ended.
Philip Louis Baro put the final nail in the coffin of Giuseppe FC with a goal in the 56th.
Aside from their attackers, the Bosconians also benefited from Cyril Calo's impressive performance as a goal keeper after stopping all their opponents' attempts. He was hailed as the ‘Best Goal Keeper'.
Del Campo, for his part, got the ‘Most Valuable Player' award while CJ Songalia bagged the ‘Best Mid-Fielder' plum. Vaugh Pacana also got the Golden Boot award.
Giuseppe got a consolation with Evan Jose Abad named the Best Defender.
Earlier, DBTC's Team 2 also claimed the third place trophy with an easy win over Sacred Heart School-Ateneo de Cebu.
The Bosconians is gunning for their fifth title in this year's Aboitiz Cup as their boys 13 squad battles Sacred Heart School-Ateneo in the finals.
