- Paul Desiderio aims for life-long dream

After leaving a lasting impression on the University

of the Philippines community,

Paul Desiderio is hoping to endear himself to the team that picks him in the PBA Draft

this Sunday.

Desiderio's draft stock rose since leading the Fighting Maroons to an unlikely runner-up finish in the recent UAAP season with his refuse-to-lose attitude and ability to deliver in the clutch.

His memorable final season in Diliman can open the door for better opportunities in the pros, something Desiderio is eager to capitalize on.

"Malaking tulong yun kasi yun nga kung hindi kami umabot sa finals, di naman ako makikilala kaya sobrang blessed ako na umabot kami dito," said Desiderio.

The 21-year-old Cebuano believes his energy and willingness to embrace whatever role can help him deal with the challenges that lie ahead.

That is why rest is the last thing on Desiderio's mind as he spent the aftermath of the UAAP title series attending workouts of prospective teams while taking part in the twoday Draft Combine at the Gatorade Hoops Center.

Desiderio wouldn't mind dealing with the rigorous schedule, as long as he is able to fulfill his life-long dream.

"Wala pa akong pahinga galing pa ako sa Finals, pero wala akong choice para kundi gawin ang best ko para makuha ko ang dream ko," he said. —
