Pag-IBIG to offer members up to 45% discount on housing

The Home Development Mutual Fund (HDMF) or the PagIBIG Fund is set to launch a new discount program next year.

Dubbed “Group Sale Program,” it grants cooperative members and accredited employers up to 45 percent discount on housing loans.

Anthony Maglunsod, PagIBIG department manager for loans management, said 40 percent discount will be granted to those who acquired assets worth P10 million.

Those with P150-million loan can enjoy a 45 percent discount.

“Mag-grupo mo dayon mopalit mo sa among acquired assets. Makaavail mo sa discount kun mopalit og assets worth P10 million sud sa usa ka tuig,” he said.

The discount is deducted outright from the applicant’s total gross loan.

Angelo Hermosisima, PagIBIG area head for South Central Visayas, said only members of a cooperative and accredited employers, as well as those with existing connection servicing agreement are allowed to avail of the discount.

“Kay if ma-approve ang group sale, the payment will be through salary deduction,” he said.

In another development, the agency also announced that its fund this year increased by 12.4 percent, as revealed by Pag-IBIG Area Head for South Central Visayas Jovelita Custodio.

“We are so proud nga atong pundo karon nagpadayon og pagsaka ug paglambo. Right now, ang atong net income as of August 2018, ni-increase og 12.4 percent from the same period last year,” Custodio said.

Pag-IBIG’s total assets has also increased from P488.74 billion in 2017 to P514.63 billion this year, which totals to a 25.9 billion increase in a span of eight months.

One of the catalysts for this asset increase was also another increase in membership savings. With a 24.8 percent difference compared to last year, Pag-IBIG’s membership salary has reached P33.26 billion.

Membership savings are the funds deducted from the salaries of its members, both from the employers and employees.
