A New Life, A New Family

“Turn again, my daughters: why will ye go with me? Are there yet anymore sons in my womb, that they maybe your husbands?”... And they lifted up their voice and wept again: and Orpah kissed her mother-in-law; but Ruth clave unto her… and Ruth said, “Entreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for wherever thou goest, I will go; and where they lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and their God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buried.” – Ruth 1:11,14,16-17

Ruth married again in Israel and had a son, who was destined to be an ancestor of Jesus of Nazareth. Thus the love and loyalty of a Moabitess have earned her and honored role in the great story of redemption.
