Prayer is power
Today’s Gospel reading leads me to reflect on the power of prayer. If you’ll notice, there are passages in the different Gospels that say how Jesus always took the time to pray, no matter how busy He was. He would also pray especially before He would perform miracles and drive out demons. He knew the importance of connecting with His Father—our Father—in heaven. The question is, do we do the same?
Do we realize how powerful prayer is?
Do we believe in the graces and miracles that God can grant us if we just took the time to pray?
I must admit that even if I do know all these things, I often fail to pray regularly. I get too caught up with my to-do lists as a work-at-home, homeschooling mom of five, and I say, “Lord, You already know what I want to say. You know what my family and I need. You understand how busy I am.” And then I go about my day, pushing Him aside. Praise God, though, for His forgiveness and patience. He always welcomes me back when I recommit to spending time with Him.
