‘Golf for Naga’ a huge success

The trio of NoelYbañez, Jan-Jan Ybañez and Henry Chin Uy emerged as the overall champion team with the lowest gross of 64 in the LuDo Golf Tournament:Golf for Naga recently at the greens of the Cebu Country Club.

Equally as stellar was the team of Jake Marques, Cippy Lu and Richard Yap, which collared the overall championsh­ip for lowest net score with a 47.

The two-day charity competitio­n, founded and organized by Douglas LuYm, gathered a total of 249 golfers from Manila and Cebu. The tournament raised P5 million from fees and donations, which are to be given directly to the affected families of the tragic landslide that befell residents of Naga City in September of last year.

Winning the members-members division was the trio of Lee Wun Sun, Jack Jamero and Fruto Teodorico, which won via countback over several other squads.

Meanwhile, the team of Clark Gothong, Chester Go and Peter Militante won the members-guests mixed division with a gross score of 76.

At the awarding ceremony, Kim Kwang Seok won the grand raffle prize and drove home a brand new Mazda CX 3 sports utility vehicle.

The tournament's presentors were Apo Land & Quarry, LuDo Corporatio­n, Mactan Electric Company, Petron, SMC Global Power and Total Power. It was also co-presented by Marubeni, San Roque Power Corp., Team Energy Corp., and Global Business Power Corporatio­n.

Silver sponsors were ElecSys Power Corporatio­n, Fernando “Ding”Borja, SEAOIL and UBS while the Hole in One sponsors were BMW, Isuzu, Mazda Cebu, Mercedes-Benz, and Toyota Team Cebu. Media sponsors were CDN Digital, SunStar and The FREEMAN.
