Court Kingz takes on Jump10 Phl team-ARQ Builders tonight

Cebuano hoop fans brace for a unique and exciting hardcourt action as the United States-based Court Kingz goes up against the Jump10 Philippine team-ARQ Builders in an exhibition match today at the University of San JoseRecole­tos (USJ-R) Basak Campus gym.

Game time is set at 6 p.m.

The Cebu-based ARQ Builders of team owner Jason Arquisola are a complete mix of former pro, commercial and varsity cagers who will represent the country in the Jump10 World Hoops Challenge in Shanghai, China next month.

“This is the best opportunit­y for us to toughen up for the World Hoops Challenge because we’re going up against a bigger and taller American players,” said ARQ coach Marvin Lito Caro. “This will really help prepare our players physically and mentally for the tough challenge ahead of us.”

Reinforced by former PBA star Dondon Hontiveros, the ARQ Builders also have Landy Sanjo, Jojo Tangkay, Rino Berame, Enrico Llanto, Lyndon Gudez, John Abad, Jojo Araño and Russell Moneva in their roster.

The Court Kingz, on the other hand, is composed of a Christian ministry group of ex-pros, varsities and top streetball­ers in the US.

This marks for the first time that the Court Kingz is visiting Cebu since being formed in 2004 by brothers Victor and Simon Martinez in Richmond,Virginia. The team was developed into an inspiratio­nal tool to impact young people around the world through basketball.

Tickets for the Apex Sports-presented event are priced at P200 for the upper box, P350 for the lower box, and P500 for the courtside.
