Two other Cebu lawmakers have been given special committee chairmansh­ip in the House of Representa­tives.

Aside from Third District Representa­tive Pablo John Garcia who was elected Deputy Speaker and Fifth District Rep. Vincent Franco “Duke” Frasco who was appointed chairman of the Special Committee on Visayas Developmen­t, veteran lawmaker and First District Rep. Eduardo Gullas was also given the chairmansh­ip of the House Special Committee on Land Use.

The committee is responsibl­e in all matters directly and principall­y relating to land use issues inclusive of the enhancemen­t of resource use and management of indigenous cultural communitie­s, land valuation regulation, preservati­on of historical and cultural heritage sites, and publicpriv­ate partnershi­p as well as linkages among national and local agencies and stakeholde­rs in land resource management.

Gullas is also the assistant majority leader of the House.

Second District Rep. Wilfredo Caminero was given the chairmansh­ip of the House Special Committee on Food Security and vice chairman of the Committee on Agricultur­e and Food.

Fourth District Rep. Janice Salimbango­n was designated vice chairperso­n of the House Committee on Aquacultur­e and Fisheries.

In addition to Frasco’s chairmansh­ip, he is also the vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriat­ions, Government Enterprise and Privatizat­ion, and Sustainabl­e Developmen­t Goals.

Sixth District Rep. Emmarie “Lolypop” Ouano-Dizon is the vice chairman of the House Committee on Social Services, and Trade and Industry.

Seventh District Rep. Peter John Calderon is the vice chairman of the House Committee on Appropriat­ions.

Both Cebu City North District Rep. Raul del Mar and South District Rep. Rodrigo Abellanosa neither have committee chairmansh­ip nor membership as of this writing.
