Tomorrow night, Saturday, October 5, Ibiza Beach Club in Mövenpick hotel Mactan Island Cebu takes diners on a flavorful journey through a wine pairing event. This one-nightonly dining special highlights Spanish wines in delightful pairings with Ibiza Beach Club’s authentic tapas selection.
“We want to showcase the diversity of our menu – from salad to soup, seafood and savoury,” says Mr. Jeryl Tio, the hotel’s director of Food and Beverage. “Our culinary team carefully selected the dishes to complement the boldness and character of each featured wine.”
A wine sommelier, Mr. Hugo Moronval, is around to take everyone through the journey. Born and raised in France, Hugo’s passion for wines and new challenges to take on the international ground led him to work in Azerbaijan as consultant for a rising producer, in Vietnam as a regional manager for the biggest national wine importer, before being appointed as country manager for a premium wine importer and distributor in the Philippines. After these different experiences and knowledge of wine market and consumers’ appreciation of the wines, he recently joined the oldest producer in Spain and family-run company Codorniu Raventos to live his dream of being an ambassador across the borders and share his love for the wine to both novice and aficionados.
