Casili stays alive in juniors A finals

Jun Carlo Manatad sparkled with 24 points, 11 rebounds and two assists as Casili lashed back at Pulpogan, 84-78, to forge a rubbermatch in their best-of-three finals in the SK juniors caterory A of the 10th Mayor Alegado Cup Inter-Barangay Fiesta Basketball League at the Consolacion Sports Complex.

Regnier Gonzaga chipped in 18 markers and Kenrick Alcover added 15 points for Casili as they cancelled out a valiant effort by John Paulo Dalumpines who dropped seven 3-point bombs of his game-high 31 points in a losing cause for Casili.

After a 36-all standoff at halftime, Casili staged a sizzling rally in the third period to seize control of the match, 63-55, for good.

John Ian Ouano was the other bright spot for Casili with 14 points.

Raymundo Osabel cashed 20 points, eight rebounds, and two assists while Rodolf Ygot tallied 12 points but to no avail for Pulpogan.

Casili and Pulpogan will settle their unfinished business in a do-or-die match on Sunday.

In the All Barangay Council (ABC) category, Baby Jun Abinales exploded for 40 points while Carlos Donn Flores and Gary Rojas each scored 12 as Red blasted Yellow, 90-75, to emerge as the top seed with a perfect 3-0 record.

The 35-day tilt is among the highlights of Consolacion’s annual fiesta in honor of their beloved patron San Narciso on October 29.

Games are under the supervision of commissioner Paul Alelu Flores assisted by technical committee chief Aurelio Eslawan.
