Cordova sets barangay schedules for cemetery visits

The local government of Cordova has set barangay schedules in visiting public and private cemeteries in the town.

Cordova Mayor Mary Therese Sitoy- Cho, together with Parish Council led by Fr. Ramil Baluran, agreed to have a scheduling of cemetery visits to avoid large crowds and that physical distancing would be observed against the threat of coronavirus disease.

The 13 barangays in the municipality have each date of scheduled visits which will start on October 22 to November 6, 2020.

On October 22 in the morning, residents of Gilutungan and Cogon while in the afternoon are residents of Dapitan are the first to visit the cemeteries.

On October 23, residents of Buagsong in the morning and Pilipog in the afternoon; October 26, Bangbang in the morning and San Miguel in the afternoon; October 27 for Poblacion; October 28 for Ibabao.

On November 5, Catarman in the morning and Alegria in the afternoon while on November 6 the residents of Day-as in the morning and Gabi in the afternoon.

According to the Municipality of Cordova Facebook page, the Parish Council will have two masses scheduled in one day, 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the parish cemetery and 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the municipal cemetery.

Sitoy-Cho asked the police, fire department, barangay councils and tanods, disaster management personnel even purok coordinators to enjoin for the crowd control and maintaining the peace and security of the public.

The Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) issued a Resolution No. 72 stating the closure of all private and public cemeteries, and memorial parks including columbariums and the like, on October 29 to November 4, 2020. —
