INSTAGRAM ADDS AUTOCAPTIONING FEATURE TO STORIES THROUGH A STICKER

Instagram recently rolled out a new tool for content creators that automatically jots down captions from videos.

Accessible through a sticker, the tool is basically an auto-transcription function that currently transcribes content in English for posts made on its Stories section. It is actively accessible in “English and Englishspeaking countries.”

Like most of Instagram’s text-based tools, the tool can be configured to stylize captions with color choices, font sizes and styles. Also like most auto-transcription tools, its users have the option to edit words which it ‘misheard’.

Auto-transcription/captioning tools have recently been rolled out by various platforms. From Zoom to Microsoft Teams to Google Meet, the tool was recently integrated in social media platforms like TikTok which, last month, launched an autocaption function for English and Japanese.
