Guardo, chairman of the committee on infrastructure, said the flooding incident reported in the last few days were areas already expected to experience such.

“Katong mga nabahaan na area lately, expected na gyud to siya na area. We have already identified areaslike kaning sa Guadalupe Heights, T. Padilla, Pardo and other areas in the south district,” said Guardo.

There are already ongoing flood control projects, he said.

Sheet piling and excavations are part of it.

“As chairman of the committee on infrastructure, I have already collaborated with the DPWH District Office, regional office to focus on finding solutions to this flooding,” Guardo said.

He, however, said these projects cannot be done overnight.

“We can’t finish these projects overnight, but I’m glad to tell nga naa nay direction,” said Guardo.

Along with this, Guardo said, it is also important to note that there is funding for it.

“We are getting prioritization on these projects. With the funding available, we are assured of continuing projects and in the long run, find the long-term solution,” said Guardo.

Meanwhile, Guardo also disclosed that they are allocating P100 million for the Bulacao River rehabilitation project in reaction to a report of overflowing water from the said river in some areas of Inayawan.

Funding on that river is another proof that the current administration is not only prioritizing barangays allied with Labella, said Guardo. —
