An alleged hitman, a notorious robber and believed to be a remnant of bigtime self-confessed drug lords, was arrested by the Criminal and Investigation Detection Group (CIDG)-7.

CIDG-7 regional chief, Police Colonel Ireneo Dalogdog, identified the suspect as Emelio Boro who was arrested during a buybust operation on October 19, 2021.

Dalogdog said that aside from this record, the suspect has been known as a drug-pusher in Barangay Mambaling, Cebu City.

He added that Boro is also a remnant of the slain Aljun Padilla, the alleged partner of the self-confessed drug lord, Franz Zabalones, who also died in a police operation in 2018.

Aside from this, he was allegedly also connected with the slain Jaguar Diaz, also a bigtime self-confessed drug lord.

"After the death of Aljun Padilla, itong nahuli nating suspect ay lumipat sa isang grupo na involved din sa isang drug syndicate dito sa Cebu City," said Dalogdog.

Investigation also revealed that the suspect was also involved in gun-for-hire operations in Cebu City and southern Cebu.

Further investigation also revealed that Boro had two victims, one of whom was killed.

Withholding the specific details, Dalogdog said the arrested cohort confessed to them that Boro was behind the killing of the other victim.

"Aside from being a drug pusher, he is also involved in the series of robbery in Cebu City, itong suspect, so ang ginagawa nya after the incident, pumupunta siya sa Moalboal para mag lie low," said Dalogdog.

Currently, Dalogdog said there are still more individuals suspected to be members of drug syndicates that they are now monitoring.

According to him, they have been keeping an eye on the suspects, especially now that the 2022 election is approaching, which might be taken advantage of by private armed groups.

"Or aside from that gagamitin ng those who are aspiring on the elective position," said Dalogdog.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has warned candidates the CIDG will be monitoring them.

"Kung mayroon mang mag-take advantage sa situation na ito, kasi itong mga tao na ito ay ginagamit nila para lang sa sarili nilang interest," said Dalogdog.

He also appealed to the public to coordinate with them should they spot anyone involved in such activity to coordinate with them.
