Lapu-Lapu City Lone District Representative Paz Radaza led the groundbreaking of the P50 million worth of causeway project in Barangay Maribago.

“Kining 50 million pesos budget alang sa katukuran sa bag-o nga causeway sa Barangay Maribago mao na unya kini ang tulay aron ang atong dakbayan ‘PASPAZ’ nga maka recover sa dakong danyos nga atong nahi-aguman,” said Radaza in her Facebook post.

The congresswoman said this would be a new causeway to be located near the area where motorized banca docked and where tourists do island hopping or for leisure purposes.

“Ako gayod gisiguro nga sa dili pako mobalik isip mayor sa atong dakbayan, ang pundasyon sa pagbalik ug pagbangon sa turismo sa atong dakbayan ato ng na han-ay daan,” said Radaza who is seeking again the mayoralty post.

Radaza was the city mayor from 2010 to 2019. She said she foresees that with the opening of the economy, more tourists, both local and foreign, will come to the city.

“Busa karon ako ng gi-andam daan ang tanan kutob sa akong mahimo isip inyong Kongresista. Ako kining gibuhat tungod kay ako ng napanlantawan nga samtang ang atong dakbayan padayon nga nagtubo, ang ato usab mga imprastruktura sa turismo atong mapa worldclass,” the three-term city mayor added.

Radaza said that the devastation in the city’s tourism brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic for over two years and more recently the Typhoon Odette that has resulted to loss of livelihood in the tourism industry, she hopes that this new infrastructure project, in a way, would help bounce back the tourism industry.
