First, the fire along Plaridel Street on Saturday afternoon left at least P675,000 worth of property damage, according to fire investigators.

The fire affected commercial establishments in the area.

A certain Marlister Ediollantes, 22, was also reported to have sustained second degree burns in his foot and hands.

Investigation showed that it started at Viola Mission which is occupied by Viola Ortiz, Mauricia Calimotan, among others.

Firefighters received the alarm at 5:47 p.m. on Saturday, and declared it under control at 6;15 p.m., and fire at 6:17 p.m.

Fire officer 3 Fulbert Navarro, investigator at Cebu City Fire Office, said they will still investigate on the exact cause of the fire. However, he said they are not discounting the possibility that it may have been electricityrelated, especially since they discovered melted wirings at

the fire site.

These wirings will be sent to their national office for further examination.

Navarro added that they were having a difficulty controlling the crowd during their response efforts.

After the fire, firefighters noted one establishment that was totally burned and four that were partially burned.

At least 30 individuals are estimated to have been affected because of the fire.

Yesterday, firefighters responded to at least two fires in Cebu City.
