GULLAS COLLEGE OF MEDICINE STUDENT: TOP 10 AWARDEE IN THE 5TH APMC-SN NATIONAL CONVENTION
An Indian national and a 4th year medical student of Gullas College of Medicine Jibin Chacko was one of the Top 10 recipients of the “Mga Natatanging Magaaral ng Medisina ng Pilipinas” (“Most Outstanding Medical Students of the Philippines) during the 5th Association of Philippine Medical Colleges-Student Network (APMC-SN) National Convention held last April 10, 2022.
The award accords acknowledgment and recognition to outstanding medical students in the country who have emphasized their roles as nationbuilders and social catalysts, particularly those who have attained a high level of academic accomplishment, demonstrated good leadership and exemplified social competence in the service of the people and the community. These exemplary medical students went far and beyond themselves in their academic and leadership direction and long-term socio-civic engagement commitment.
Chacko said that life has never been a bed of roses for him especially when he started to pursue the Medicine course. Being a medical student changed his life for the better. He started to carry on with his life as a medical student with specific planning and scheduling every single day. To hustle on every single opportunity was his mission to be accomplished fuelled with proper amplification of strength, impact, degree of involvement and professionalism. His personal growth and development was his motivation and inspiration in all that he did.
“In the end, years of hard work, efforts, extensive management, sleepless nights, blood and sweat have made a great significance by creating a history. It made me feel much privileged and rewarding to be honored as among the Top 10 most outstanding medical students in the country. I strongly believe that this would set a benchmark and trend for all the upcoming medical students to strive harder for what they would like to achieve by following their dreams and passion through proper cultivation and support system,” Chacko added.
