The Cebu City Police Office has welcomed the vision of reelected Mayor Michael Rama of making the city police force the “Cebu's finest.”

Rama wants additional police stations to further improve the peace and order situation in the city.

"For the information of everyone sa wala pa ang election, has been constantly communicating and coordinating with the office of our Mayor Michael Rama and a lot of projects will fly especially now that he has been proclaimed as incoming mayor," said CCPO information officer, Police Lt. Colonel Maria Theresa Macatangay.

Among these, she added, is the possible addition of two police stations that will be established in the city particularly in Barangay Malubog and Adlaon.

According to Macatangay, this has been long planned and that they are looking to realize the plan.

To promote peace and order by helping the CCPO to be the best nationwide is part of Rama’s “21 Gun Salute”.

The city government recently provided two vehicles for the Special Weapons and Tactics of the CCPO.

Aside from this, Macatangay also said that they are in talks of processes and compliance to address the issues on the Children in Conflict with the Law (CICL). This also includes addressing the problems of the street children.

"Tutokan nato kay parte sa atong paglambo as usa ka syudad ang pag ensure nga nindot atong peace and order sa syudad," said Macatangay.

Further, the CCPO has previously raised that the non-functioning CCTV cameras around the city is a continuing challenge for them in their investigation.

She added, the CCPO has already submitted their list of requests before the city mayor which may help the police force to realize the vision.
