Alta Vista to hold signature member-guest golfest on May 18-22
After a two-year hiatus brought about by th e Covid-19 pandemic, Alta Vista Golf and Country Club, which is located on the hills of Pardo, Cebu City, will be holding once again its signature member-guest tournament – The View Invitational.
To ensure the compliance of the health and safety protocols set by the government, the tournament committee headed by Club Director Vicente ‘Inting’ Go and co-chaired by Club Director Ramon Sebastian decided to stretch the tournament to five days. First day is on May 18 and it will run until May 22. Only fully-vaccinated players are also allowed to join.
This is a two-man, 36-hole team event where a club member pairs off with a guest. The Modified Stableford Scoring System will be used and participants will be allowed to use only three-fourths of their lowest handicap for the period of March 1 to May 1, 2022.
Prizes at stake will be for the overall team champion (lowest net) and overall lowest gross. There will be also prizes for the top three teams for the three handicap categories as well as the seniors’ division. To qualify to play in the seniors’ class, the total age of the team members must not be less than 120 years and no member of the team must be below 55 years old.
The tournament awards specially-crafted brass plaques which are exclusive to the event.
Due to the numerous sponsors, the committee also decided that an individual category for the non-members playing as guests of the sponsoring companies and individuals.
A Mitsubishi Mirage G4 from Fast Autoworld, Php 100,000 worth of free bet coupons from Casino Filipino, Php 100,000 cash from the club, three nights stay at Plantation Bay Resort and Spa, a weekend stay in a pool villa at J Park Island Resort, and cash from Lapu-lapu International College. These prizes are assigned to specific holes and in case more than one player will win a particular prize, it will be equally shared.
A SkyGo motorcycle is also at stake for
an eagle on all par-4 holes. This will also be equally shared if there is more than one winner.
Each participant is entitled to a Nike backpack as giveaway as well items from Shaldan. Each participant is also entitled to a minor raffle prize that he or she can claim after playing the first round.
The awards ceremony will be held at the club’s ballroom, but will be open only to the tournament participants.
More raffle prizes are also at stake during the awards night. The committee has decided that players, who will not attend the dinner are still eligible to win a raffle prize. This is because some people are still not comfortable about attending gatherings.
All caddies of the club have been fullyvaccinated also to comply with the guidelines set by the National Golf Association of the Philippines (NGAP) for the return of golf.*
