Gov plans more roads, to upgrade hospitals

After she was given fresh mandate to lead the Cebu Provincial Government, Gwendolyn Garcia has bared her plans for her fifth term.

Garcia said the Capitol will continue to concrete the remaining less than a hundred provincial roads and also the barangay roads in the province. She also promised to install solar powered street lights to these roads.

For health sector, the upgrading of the provincial hospitals will be continued. The first two health facilities which are Level 2 hospitals, whose constructi­on now underway, are Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH) in Danao and Bogo.

If approved by the Department of Health, this means the bed capacity will be expanded, more doctors and medical personnel will be hired and additional medical equipment will be provided to meet the standard set by the DOH.

As to education, the Capitol is set to give school supplies like school bags with notebooks and pencils will be given to the students as classes are set to open through face to face this August. The scholarshi­p program for students with outstandin­g grades will also continue.

As to tourism, the Pasigarbo sa Sugbo will be pushed through in line with founding anniversar­y of the Province this August. There will also be a package of Suroy-suroy Sugbo this year.

Garcia said the Sugbo Negosyo, Sugbusog and Sugbo Kahanas will also continue in her term.

Garcia reiterated expressing her gratitude to 1.4 Cebunos who voted for her during the May 9 polls.

"Over 1.4 million Cebuanos gave their vote of confidence agreeing with the policies that we have laid down during the pandemic even though they were a few critics that seem dominate social media but afterall the silent huge majority of Cebuanos agreed how we handled the pandemic,” Garcia said.
