Comelec starts giving honorarium of poll workers

-

Two weeks after the May 9, 2022 national and local elections, the Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Cebu City will finally start releasing the honoraria and allowances of poll workers today at the Comelec Provincial Office.

Cebu City South District election officer Marilou Paredes said they decided to distribute the honoraria in their provincial office so everything will be smooth sailing since it has a bigger space.

“Didto mi sa Capitol para sa smooth distribution. Sa among conference room sa COMELEC, Legislative Building, second floor, aron safe atong mga

EBs and then naa say parkingan,” said Paredes yesterday.

Distribution starts at 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. daily until all get their due.

The distribution of honoraria will be by batch with those who served as chairperson of the electoral board (EB) being the first to receive it.

After the EB chairpersons, poll clerk and third member will be scheduled Wednesday until all other workers during the NLE will be given their honorarium.

EB chairpersons get an honorarium and allowance worth P10,000 minus 20 percent tax while poll clerk and the third member get P9,000 each.

To get their honorarium, they need to fill out form 2316 for its tax, present their appointment paper and Department of Education Identification Card.

Paredes also stressed that no one else can claim the honorarium other than the poll workers themselves unless the latter is hospitalized plus other valid reasons. For those excused, an authorization letter and ID should be submitted as well. —
