The Cebu City Youth Development Commission has been named as one of the most outstanding youth development offices ahead of the 4th Philippine Sangguniang Kabataan Awards ceremony while three barangays in the city are also set for the grand finals on June 12, 2023 in Iloilo City.

This is the first time that the said award-giving body is giving due recognition to local youth development offices.

Although the awarding is yet to take place next month, CCYDC’s executive director Paolo Saberon already expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all those who played a part in making the CCYDC one of the most outstanding local youth development offices in the country.

“Your contributions and tireless efforts have not gone unnoticed, and I would like to take this opportunity to thank you all from the bottom of my heart,” Saberon said.

Saberon thanked Cebu City Mayor Michael Rama and Vice Mayor Raymond Garcia for their guidance and vision along with the SK Federation president Jessica Resch together with Councilors Dondon Hontiveros, Rey Gealon, Joy Pesquera, Noel Wenceslao and Philip Zafra, and the rest of the City Council for its support to the said youth commission’s program.

“I would like to express my gratitude to our partners and supporters who have believed in us and our work. Your contributions and support have played a significant role in the success of the CCYDC,” added Saberon while also thanking all the SK leaders and youth organizations for their dedication and commitment that also inspired them to continue to work hard.

Aside from the most outstanding youth development office, organizers have also congratulated in advance the upcoming Hall of Famers in the said awards including Cebu City’s very own Barangay Tisa SK headed by Sonia Cal.

Two other SK councils in Cebu City also made it to the final cut for the grand finals on June 12, the SK Mabolo for the Outstanding SK Councilbarangay category and SK A.L.E.R.T of SK Labangon for the Outstanding SK project category.

The SK Federation of Poro, Cebu, on the other hand, also made it to the grand finals under the Outstanding SK Council Federation category. —
