This after the chiefs of some provincial and district hospitals including the evaluators of these medical facilities headed by the Capitol’s consultant on health, Dr. Mary Jean Loreche, raised the concern on quality control of some equipment.

During their meeting with the governor on May 26, hospital chiefs of Cebu Provincial Hospital (CPH) in Bogo City and Danao City including the CPH-Balamban and the district hospital in Camotes and Bantayan islands were among those who raised the concern, prompting the governor to order Prime Care Cebu to replace the medical equipment.

Prime Care is a laboratory services provider of the provincial-run hospitals which has a five-year contract with the Capitol.

Officials of the laboratory service provider assured the governor they will fix the problem.

Capitol Information Office reported that Prime Care told Garcia that the delay on their routine maintenance upgrade was pandemic-related since their supplier is based in China.

The governor wanted to have this concern fixed as this is part of their goal to achieve quality health service to its

constituents.

“Governor Gwen wants to level up all services nga ihatag nato sa atong katawhan, so any concern, whether small or minor, has to be addressed accordingly,” Loreche said, in a report by Sugbo News, the Capitol’s news portal.

Recently, Loreche and her team just concluded their second round of evaluation to the province’s four provincial and 12 district hospitals and evaluators saw improvement in the health services of the Capitol’s health facilities. —
