Offering unique respites from the hustle and bustle of city life, this holistic wellness retreat highlights a transformative experience wherein guests can embark on a journey of self-discovery and rejuvenation that’s backdropped by the wonders of nature.

For our wedding anniversary, my husband and I opted to celebrate it in a novel detoxification treatment-oriented way. The retreat was perfect for this, as it highlights medicallysupervised cleansing treatments.

Although it has been operational for more than 20 years, it was our first time staying there. To get there, one can fly from Cebu to Manila City, then embark on a three-hour drive from NAIA to Lipa, Batangas.

The nearest town from the resort is 25 minutes away. It is very secluded and on the way to its main facility, one can come by mango and cocoa trees and various kinds of vegetables being grown. Most of the dishes served at the resort come from these organically grown farms.

Initially, the resort was established by German founder Eckard Rempe and his Filipina wife Perla as a holistic cancer treatment center. Surrounded by lush tropical gardens, majestic mountains, and abundant flora, its tranquil atmosphere got the attention of healthconscious baby boomers, millennials and Gen Zers, and it eventually opened its doors to anyone on the lookout for a resort that’s committed to heal and rejuvenate the mind, body and spirt.

Serving as the heart of the resort is its comprehensive detoxification programs. Based on the principles of integrative medicine, its team of experienced wellness professionals can come up with personalized detox plans to address individual needs.

These programs incorporate therapies like colon hydrotherapy, lymphatic massages, nutrient-rich cuisine made from organic ingredients, and therapeutic spa treatments, among many others. The aim is to cleanse the body of toxins, boost the immune system, and promote optimal health from within.

We availed of the colon hydrotherapy treatment, which was a novel detoxing experience, then capped it with their hydro massage treatment in lush vegetation settings, al fresco style.

During our three-night stay, we booked a Pool Villa which is nestled on a ridge and offers access to an infinity pool, outdoor covered terraces, bedroom, a day bed, a palatial bathroom with double sinks, shower, bathtub and two individual toilets. Private gardens surround the Pool Villa which part the veil to breathtaking views of the San Benito ridge and its surrounding forests.

The resort boasts of a range of world-class facilities and services to enhance wellness experiences. Its Healing Sanctuary Spa offers a diverse range of treatments inspired by ancient healing traditions from around the world. The wellness center features state-of-the-art facilities for yoga, Pilates, meditation, and fitness classes.

Additionally, its awardwinning Alive! restaurant serves delicious and nutritious gourmet vegan dishes made with fresh, organic ingredients that’re sourced from its own gardens and local farms.

With a commitment to sustainable practices and a focus on personalized care, the resort has earned a distinction as a premier wellness hideaway in the Philippines.

Whether seeking to detoxify, unwind, or simply reconnect with nature, The Farm at San Benito proudly stands out as a beacon of wellness, inviting guests to embrace a healthier, more balanced way of life.
