61% of CV LGUs pass DILG’s financial assessment in 2023
More than half of the local government units in Cebu have already passed the Seal of Financial Good House-keeping of 2023 based on the latest update from the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG).
As of January 25, 2024, there are 83 government units in the whole of Central Visayas that have passed DILG’s assessment with majority of them coming from the Cebu Island.
The latest list of passers is 61% of the total assessed LGUs, still lower than last year’s final list at 80% of the 149 LGUs including the provincial government units.
For the 2023 GFH, criteria includes the most recent available COA Audit Opinion for 2021 or 2022, based on the annual audit report posted in the COA website, as of July 21, 2023 (end of SGLG Regional Assessment).
Aside from that, also being looked into is the compliance with full disclosure policy requirements on the timely and complete posting of required financial documents in three (3) conspicuous places and in the FDP Portal for the 2nd to 4th quarter of 2022, and 1st quarter of 2023, based on the data provided by the FDP Central Team of the Bureau of Local Government Supervision-Policy Compliance Monitoring Division.
For the latest summary, all provinces under Region 7 have passed including Cebu, Bohol, Negros Oriental and Siquijor.
For the cities, there are 12 cities and 67 municipalities out of 83 government units assessed that passed so far.
From Cebu, those that passed the assessment so far among the cities include Bogo, Carcar, Naga, Talisay, Danao, Lapu-Lapu and Mandaue. Cebu City, one of last year’s passers is not on the list yet along with Toledo City.
For the municipalities, those that have passed for such seal include Alcoy, Alegria, Badian, Balamban, Bantayan, Boljoon, Borbon, Daanbantayan, Carmen, Catmon, Consolacion, Dalaguete, Medellin, Liloan, Madridejos, Minglanilla, Moalboal, Oslob, Pinamungahan, Samboan, San Remigio, Santander, Sogod, Tudela and Dumanjug. -
