CSC chief urges gov’t employees to take up training courses
MANILA - Civil Service Commission (CSC) chairperson Karlo Nograles has urged government employees to expand their knowledge by taking up free training courses being offered by the CSC through its online platform, Learning Management System (LMS).
“The LMS is not just a product of the CSC’s commitment to utilize digital resources to improve public service delivery, this is also for our civil servants who want to improve themselves through training. By offering online courses, our government employees can continue learning wherever and whenever they want to,” Nograles said in a mix of English and Filipino.
Developed by the CSC’s Civil Service Institute (CSI), the LMS serves as a one-stop-shop for civil servants who want to access digital resources as well as attend online courses to enhance their leadership and human resource (HR) management skills.
The CSC said that aside from the blended programs, the LMS also offers self-paced “e-Learning” courses that allow participants to learn “at their own pace anytime, anywhere, without any intervention from an instructor.”
Among the free courses are the “Orientation on Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN)” on February 9 as well as the “Workplace Wellness Workshop” on February 16 to 20, which aims to help participants develop a workplace wellness program that is responsive to the needs of their organization and their workforce.
Human resource (HR) practitioners from national government agencies, local government units, governmentowned and controlled corporations, and state universities and colleges may enroll in the “Learning Needs Analysis” course set on March 13 to 15.
Government workers may also enroll in “Gender, Diversity, and Social Inclusion Workshop” scheduled on March 13, will guide participants in managing diversity and gender-related differences and fostering inclusion in the workplace.
Meanwhile, an online course titled “Manager’s Role in Capacity Building” designed for managers, division chiefs, supervisors, or equivalent positions will be offered on March 19 to 20. The CSC said the course will guide participants in drafting an Office Development Plan for their units and how they can be implemented effectively.
The CSC said participants who have completed the requirements for the courses will receive an “e-Certificate of Completion” with the appropriate number of leadership and managerial training hours.
Individuals who wish to enroll need to create an account in the CSC-LMS platform. Upon signing up, participants will have access to their personal dashboard where they can view all course-related information and tools, including the training guidelines, modules, training hours, dates, and costs.
