With his burning passion for wood and for creating aweinspiri­ng works of art, Studio 10.10’s innovative resident artist, sculptor and furniture designer has been making waves in the art scene with his extraordin­ary creations that speak of impeccable artistry, functional­ity and comfort. Niccolo recently launched his latest line of special studio furniture dubbed “Spring Collection 2012” at One Rockwell (Function Room East) in Rockwell Center, Makati City. Specially-invited guests alongside architects, interior designers and home enthusiast­s thoroughly enjoyed the exhibit displaying expertly-crafted dining chairs and tables, barstools, side tables, coffee stands and decorative art fashioned out of aged wood from all over the Philippine­s. For the first time in the country, Niccolo also showcased a one-of-a-kind art technique called pyrography - a process of creating images from tones and shades of hardwood burn marks. The attendees were impressed to see the result of this very laborious method - amazing ac- cent art pieces featuring faces and figures of women as subjects.
