Xavier School to stage 55th anniversary concert
Xavier School closes its 55th anniversary celebration with the staging of “Project X - 55 Years of Xavier School in Song.” This benefit concert will be held on Sunday, March 25, 7 p.m. at the Meralco Theatre and will feature timeless classics from the past decades including modern hits from contemporary artists as performed by homegrown talents.
It will showcase the biggest gathering of alumni artists led by veteran stage actor/writer/director Joel Trinidad (’ 86), writer and director of the show, actor and recording artist Marvin Ong (’06), former Akafella member and now stage actor Reuben Uy (’ 04), singer/ songwriter and DJ Casey Copengco (’87), and Kevin Roy (’ 93), lead vocalist/songwriter of Razorback, LOQUY and GAP. Also performing are fellow alumni Terence Ang (’96), Peter Caimbon (’ 04), Bobby Cheng (’ 72), Mark Chua (’94), Nixon Yau Lim (’87), Christopher Ong (’07), and Oliver Roxas (’90), and Christopher Yu (’09). Featured in the concert are student members of the Xavier School Choir, the Dragon and Lion Dance Troupe, and Dance X.
Proceeds from the concert will go to the Xavier School Educational & Trust Fund ( XSETF) in support of Xavier School Nuvali. The new school, opening in June 2012 in Laguna, will be coeducational and will provide up to 25 percent of the student population with free or partially subsidized tuition.
