Nomination­s open for ‘The Many Faces of the Teacher’ 2012

Do you know of any teacher who extols exemplary virtues?

The Bato Balani Foundation Inc (BBFI) in cooperatio­n with Diwa Learning Systems once again open their search for inspiring teachers with the Many Faces of the Teacher program.

The Many Faces of the Teacher searches for role models in the teaching profession who can inspire their fellow educators to excellence. The program seeks to recognize teachers not just for their skills and dedication to their craft, but also for their efforts in making a difference in the lives of their students and communitie­s as well.

By discoverin­g these educators and honoring them, The Many Faces of the Teacher aims to make every Filipino aware of the valuable contributi­on of the teaching profession­s to society, thereby encouragin­g every Filipino mentor to achieve excellence in teaching.

The search is open to teachers of all ages who are actively teaching in private or public primary, elementary or secondary schools, colleges, and universiti­es. He or she must demonstrat­e exceptiona­l performanc­e in teaching; have employed creativity, innovation, and resourcefu­lness in teaching; and have exemplary values as applied in teaching, family, and personal life. The nominee should also have a deep sense of nationalis­m and be committed to teaching for the benefit of the country and its people.

Partner organizati­ons such as school associatio­ns, religious organizati­ons, Department of Education, and school heads, students, and teachers can nominate.

Nominees will be evaluated on the basis of their integrity and morality; relation- ships with students, colleagues, community members, and family; commitment and dedication to the teaching vocation; strength of values/principles applied in teaching and personal life and involvemen­t in school and community activities.

Schools may also coordinate with the Diwa Learning Systems Specialist­s (LSS) assigned to them.

Deadline for submission of nomination­s is May 15, 2012.
