Robinsons Supermarke­t Gets Heart Smart

Our heart is the most hardworkin­g muscle in our body. Always on the go. Never gets a vacation, a weekend off or even a 10-minute break, not even a time out when we’re asleep. Truth is, we can’t afford for our hearts to skip a beat. Here are some tips to get heart smart.

1. Get active.

Try brisk walking, dancing, cycling or whatever activity you enjoy thrice a week for at least half an hour or more. This will prep you up for Robinsons Supermarke­t’s 5th Fit & Fun Wellness Buddy Run on July 1, 2012 at Bonifacio Global City. Registrati­on will start on May 1 at select stores.

2. Relax.

Small pleasures may reduce the risks of heart ailments. Know when to take a break or to unwind. Practice yoga, take a power nap, or a stroll, maintain a happy dispositio­n, spend time with your family, get a massage, and laugh!

3. Eat Smart.

Add more fruits and green leafy vegetables to your diet. When we eat better, we feel better. The Health & Wellness section in Robinsons Supermarke­t offers a wide selection of heart healthy products.

4. Regular annual checkups.

It doesn’t hurt to always keep one’s health in check. Robinsons Supermarke­t, in coordinati­on with New World Diagnostic­s, is offering free blood pressure check-ups at select stores starting March 21, 2012 to May 31, 2012.
