‘Building the UE Spirit...’ faculty conference set

The University of the East (UE) will hold a two- day faculty conference themed “Building the UE Spirit-Transformi­ng Philippine Education: K + 12 and Higher Education” at Club Balai Isabel Resort in Talisay, Batangas on June 11-12.

The UE faculty conference is being undertaken in recognitio­n of the importance of the faculty of instructio­n as an indispensa­ble foundation­al pillar of any higher education institutio­n.

The daytime of Day 1 of the 2012 UE Faculty Conference will feature four luminaries to talk about their respective areas. Dr. Elena Ruiz, Assistant Secretary for Programs and Projects of the Department of Education, will be the keynote speaker and will talk on “Major Decisions on the K to 12 Curriculum.” Dr. Catherine Castañeda, Director V of the CHED-National Capital Region, will tackle “Current Preparatio­ns of Higher Education.” Dr. Jaime Galvez- Tan, the former Secretary of Health, will tackle “Wellness for Educators,” while Dr. Jesus Tanchanco Sr., the executive director of UE’s marketing department, will talk about how to “Promote the University for Prosperity.” Day 1 will conclude with a “Silangan Tribal Festival” fellowship night and dinner at the poolside.

Day 2 will feature an array of teambuildi­ng activities to further strengthen teamwork, camaraderi­e and harmony relationsh­ips among the participat­ing faculty members and administra­tors.
