Globe powers Puregold’s 1st simultaneous store conventions
Puregold Price Club recently tapped Globe Telecom to power its 7th “Tindahan ni Aling Puring” Sari-Sari Store Convention, the country’s biggest gathering of retail entrepreneurs, which was held simultaneously for the first time in two venues — in Manila and in Baguio City.
With the tieup, Globe broadband provided simulcast coverage of the Manila convention in the World Trade Center from May 16 to 17 live at the Baguio convention in Camp John Hay, including the opening rites with President Benigno Aquino as guest of honor. The live broadcasts were powered by the high-speed internet of Globe broadband.
The Manila convention was held from May 16 to 19 while Baguio had a two-day convention from May 16 to 17. Around 40,000 Aling Puring members and guests trooped to the two conventions.
The two convention sites reflect the increasing vibrance of growth areas outside Metro Manila, which Puregold has committed to support with even more store launches. Puregold recently launched its 106th store and is set to open 25 additional stores within the year, half of which will be opened in the affluent cities in the Visayas and Mindanao, marking its expansion beyond Luzon.
Over 140 Puregold trade partners participated in both conventions-providing product discounts and samplings, as well as business workshops, and entertainment.
