The new tourism slogan It’s More Fun in the Philippines is gaining ground. Tourism secretary Ramon Fernandez said the government posted a record high of 1,148,072 arrivals in the first quarter or a 16 percent increase from last year’s international arrivals.

Jimenez said the country’s international exposure on CNN as well as other promotional efforts in key markets, policy reforms to ease entry and enhance market access, and ongoing improvements in road and airport infrastructure would help lure more foreign tourists to the country.

There are many reasons why the Philippines can attract more tourists.

More tourists visit the Philippines because of world- class resorts and beaches, beautiful sceneries, historical and cultural landmarks, hospitable and intelligent people who can speak English. Also the Philippines, the only Christian country in Asia, is rich with festivals reflecting its religion and culture.
