Dermatopoietin: The latest in Swiss skincare science

-

Swiss precision dominates this skincare line, which hinges on cutting-edge technology developed by a Russian scientist who specializes in cellular communication. Since it’s so difficult to get topical products to penetrate the skin, why not get cells to talk to each other instead and encourage the manufacture of collagen and elastin?

An out- of- the- box idea but one so brilliant that Swiss company United Technologies was willing to invest 10 million euros in a product line that was five years in the making, according to Dr. Igor Petropavlov, United Technologies’ CEO. The result? DermatoPoietin.

What it is: The name’s hard to pronounce, but here’s why: “dermato” means “skin,” while “poietin” means “maker.” Brought here by local company Elskin Laboratories, DermatoPoietin promises to remake your skin in 28 days. And it’s not just anti-aging for your face but also your body: hair, nails, hands, feet, and a general-purpose serum to address cellulite.

What it does: The range’s secret weapon are two peptides, molecules that act like the words of the language that cells use to communicate and message

one another. The first peptide consists of 159 amino acids and acts as a producer (of collagen and the skin’s other structural elements), while the second has only six amino acids and acts as a controller, “so the products are very safe,” says Dr. Igor Pomytkin, the main scientist behind the line.

“The idea is to restore the level of collagen in young skin after 28 days of treatment,” Pomytkin says. “In clinical trials we found that DermatoPoietin dramatically increases both collagen and elastin in the skin versus a placebo. After only two weeks it increased the collagen level in the skin by 74 percent!”

Results: Clinical testing showed that DermatoPoietin improves skin thickness after four weeks. Compared to another highly effective anti-aging ingredient, tretinoin, while 0.1 percent of tretinoin increased collagen 80 percent after 10 months, .00015 percent of DermatoPoietin increased collagen by 74 percent after two weeks. “So it’s a superior technology,” Pomytkin claims. “Around the eyes it’s most effective because the skin in that area is very thin and you see very fast results.”

How to use it: After eight weeks of treatment the skin needs a break, so the skincare kits include a second cream to use during the break, which feeds skin with nutrients, vitamins and antioxidants. After one month, treatment can be resumed again.

DermatoPoietin is available through dermatologists’ clinics.

?? ?? Swiss science: DermatoPoietin’s anti-aging products for face and body use cellular communication to stimulate collagen formation. The range is available at dermatologists’ clinics.
