The market is flooded by gadget cases but one stands out for fearlessly demonstrating on a regular basis how effective they are. Otterbox has made a name as a third-party case maker for various digital devices and this time, they have a brand new lineup that is set to redefine gadget protection.
Recently, Tenkie Box, the Philippine distributor of Otterbox, held their second successful “Drop Test” at the Trinoma Mall in Quezon City. Mallgoers were dared to use an Otterbox case on their device and to drop them, from five to six feet high, on the hard mall floor. As expected, all their gadgets were unscathed.
“It’s the only case that has a one-year warranty,” says Anthony Kierulf, managing director of Tenkie Box. “You just have to show the receipt at any of our local Tenkie Box stores. It doesn’t even have to be the same store, as long as you show a receipt that you bought it from us.”
Otterbox recently introduced two new cases for the Samsung Galaxy Note – the Commuter and Defender cases.
The Defender has three layers of protection that keeps the thin and light body of the Galaxy Note secure in any environment. A built in screen protector keeps the device surface free from scratches. An outer layer of durable silicone absorbs bumps and shocks to the device while an inner polycarbonate shell gives solid impact protection. Various openings provide access to all the ports.
Meanwhile, the Commuter is similar to the Defender in that it also has three layers of protection. But this series is slimmer and more compact. A smooth finish allows it to slide in and out of pockets easily for people on the go.
Apple users with iPads and iPhones are treated to different color combinations for the Defender series, as well as the Reflex Clear series for iPhones.
The OtterBox iPad case, which provides shock and impact absorption and scratch resistance, now comes in five vivid colors for its polycarbonate and silicone combinations: the Hornet in bright yellow and black, the Deep Sea in solid blue and black, the Alpenglow in cheerful pink and black, the Crevasse in classy white and black, and the Sea Green in vibrant teal and black.
iphone users can also look forward to a more funky and clearer protection with the Reflex Clear series. Ever the versatile line, the lightweight and innovative Reflex case now comes in three translucent colors – glacier blue, pink, and clear – showing off Apple’s sleek style to shine through. Still, the Reflex offers flexible and easy protection with its shockproof single-layer case, complete with a self-adhering screen protector to guard against scratches and scuffs.
Kierulf adds, “We’d like to think of Otter box as insurance [for your device].”
