Travel Madness Expo opens today

The much-awaited global tourism collaborat­ion during the Travel Madness Expo at the SMX Convention Center starts at 1 p.m. today with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and an “Extreme Madness Hour” to set this internatio­nal tourism marketing event in vigorous motion.

The Extreme Madness Hour will kick off with the opening speech of Travel Innovators Inc. president Raymond Tee after the welcome remarks of vice president Ma. Paz Alberto.

Travel Innovators Inc. is the organizer of the Travel Madness Expo, which Tee describes as the event that can make tourism a year-round high-season activity.

“The opening activities alone reflects the meaning of the country’s tourism brand statement ‘ It’s more fun in the Philippine­s’ as highlighte­d by the ‘Extreme Madness Hour’ and the global features of this event,” Tee said.

The fun activities will come after the opening of the exhibits and will be followed by an hour- and- a- half performanc­e by the Draybers Band and a 30minute presentati­on with exciting games quarterbac­ked by Hong Kong Disneyland.

Featured in the exhibits are the latest offerings of top global industry players that include All Nippon Airways, China Airlines, Etihad Airways, Jeju Air Inc., Jetstar Asia Airways Pte Ltd., Ocean Park Hong Kong, Avilon Zoo, Resorts World Manila, Princess Cruises, Royal Caribbean and Star Cruises, various embassies and consulates, financial institutio­ns, property developers, government corporatio­ns and consumer outlets.

Also participat­ing in the expo are domestic carriers AirPhil Express, Cebu Pacific Air, SEAIR and Zest Air, and internatio­nal carriers Air China, Cathay Pacific Airways, Delta Airlines, Hawaiian Air, Hong Kong Dragon Airlines, Emirates, Eva Air, Malaysian Airlines, Philippine Airlines, Qatar Airways, and Singapore Airlines, among others, all featuring their latest offerings and promo packages.

With the theme Travel Providers, Partners, and Consumers – Hitting It High On Low, the expo includes business matching and networking for marketing tie-ups, joint ventures, supply contracts, advance booking, wholesale and retail travel transactio­ns and many other lucrative deals. The Expo is open to the public for free. The event is supported by Citibank as official credit card sponsor, and Amadeus, Abacus and Galileo as official global distributi­on systems.
