Blues guitar legend in Manila

On Sept. 25 at 8 p.m., blues guitar legend Joe Bonamassa (photo) will arrive in Manila for a special, one-night-only concert at One Esplanade, Mall of Asia Complex.

Dubbed An Evening with Joe Bonamassa, The Guitar Event of the Year, the concert is presented by The Roadhouse Manila Bay at the Mall of Asia, the country’s newest venue for hardcore blues and rock fans. It is a place where the perfect ambience, good food, ice cold beers and great music come together for an experience you’ll want to experience again and again.

The UK-based blues rock legend is one of the world’s greatest guitar players and has bagged major awards and citations, including Breakthrough Artist of the Year at the UK’s prestigious Classic Rock Roll of Honour Awards and Best Blues Guitarist in Guitar Player Magazine’s 2009 Readers’ Choice Awards for the third consecutive year.

Classic Rock Magazine stated: “They’re calling him the future of blues, but they’re wrong Ñ Joe Bonamassa is the present; so fresh and of his time that he almost defines it.”

This will be Bonamassa’s first time to perform in Manila. Thus, fan sites and Internet forums are heating up. He will treat his Manila- based fans to some of the finest guitar and blues music of this generation, including cuts from his recent album, Black Rock. The album adds an enlivening dose of “world” vibes to Bonamassa’s virtuoso mix of ‘ 60s- era British blues- rock and roots- influenced Delta sounds. Bonamassa hit songs are Driving Towards The Daylight, Stones In My Passway, A New Day Yesterday, You and Me, Sloe Gin, Miss You, Hate You, Cradle Rock and Pain and Sorrow.
