Leon Gallery holds liquidatio­n auction

Leon Gallery holds its initial auction for the year on Jan. 26, 2 p.m. at Leon Gallery, ground floor, Corinthian Plaza, Paseo de Roxas, Makati City.

The auction is the liquidatio­n of artworks owned by Prudential­ife Plans Inc. and is undertaken by virtue of the directive of the Philippine Insurance Commission.

Among those artists whose works will go under the hammer are National Artist Fernando Amorsolo, National Artist Jose Joya, Oscar Zalameda, Tiny Nuyda, William Yu, Tam Austria, Roberto Balajadia, Andy Cubi, Roden delos Santos, Danilo Sibayan, Al Bandolan, Larry Memije, Tony Mahilum, Jimmy Kwong, Cesar Buenaventu­ra, A. Gonzales, Crisanto, Francisco Ello, Isabelo Quiles, Jose Yap Baguio, Angel Moreno, and Via Castro. The lone sculptural work is by sculptor Eduardo Castrillo.

Viewing dates are from Jan. 24 to 25, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Jan. 26, 9 to 12 a.m.

‘UnBound’ at Yuchengco Museum

The Australian Embassy in Manila and Yuchengco Museum present ÒUnBound,Ó which is on view until Feb. 20 at the Yuchengco Museum, ground ßoor, RCBC Plaza, corner Ayala and Sen. Gil Puyat Aves., Makati City.

The show features the recent artistic exchange between Australia and the Philippine­s through the works of six Filipino artists Ñ Alfredo and Isabel Aquilizan, Maria

Cruz, Diokno Pasilan, Diokno Pasilan and Juni Salvador Ñ and two Australian artists Ñ David Griggs and

Tony Twigg Ñ who have made both countries their home. Using the metaphor of an airportÕs transit lounge as the point of intersecti­on for arriving and departing Ñ for ideas of home and away Ñ the show evokes the frequency with which these artists move across the Asia PaciÞc.
