-

The Johann Strauss Society of the Philippines’ cocktailmusicale at the CCP lobby was a “thank you” to its generous benefactors. Diplomats and elite society attended the event which coincided with the birthday of Olga Severino Martel, dedicated JSSP president for the last four years.

Highlight of the occasion was the JSSP donation to CCP president Raul Sunico through Olga, co-chairpersons Agnes Huibonhua, Virginia Lane and Betty Chua and JSSP chairman Fortune Ledesma.

Featured artists were international concertist Raul Sunico, eminent cellist Renato Lucas, the world-renowned UST Singers, tenor Christian Nagano and soprano Marie Ann Dominese, scholars of George Yang’s Musika Klassika Foundation.

During the cocktails, Austrian Ambassador Wilhelm Donko gave an inspirational message. Later, he and his wife Yan hosted a dinner for the JSSP officers and members. Guest artist was the brilliant 17year-old piano prodigy-virtuoso Lorenzo “Enzo” Medel.

*** Charo Santos Concio marked her own special day with a Japanese dinner at her elegant residence. Husband Cesar helped entertain.

Rikki Jimenez, who heads the Rikki J. & Friends Foundation with Belen Tecson Martel, Tereret Liboro, Ernie Ordoñez, Vicki Lagdameo, Ning Muñoz, Mel Chionglo and Charo as members, distributed gifts to the needy last holiday season. (See photo)
