MWSS FORGES TIES WITH QUEZON TOWN:

A Manila Water and Sewerage System (MWSS) team, under the leadership of Gerardo A.I. Esquivel (seated, third from left), signs a memorandum of agreement with the local government of General Nakar, Quezon, led by Mayor Leovigildo Ruzol, to support MWSS in the Sumag River Diversion Tunnel Project and the Umiray-Angat Transbasin Tunnel Rehabilitation Project (UATP). Temporary infrastructures constructed in 1995 will be replaced in this project to increase the efficiency of water flow from Umiray River to Angat River. The project is part of the Water Security Legacy (WSL) program to further strengthen MWSS’ position as the champion and guardian of water security for Metro Manila and all its proclaimed areas of coverage. The implementation of major infrastructure projects falls under the strategy on Water Resource Development, Management and Protection.
