LSGH rips Lourdes, tops Seaoil caging

Marc Lim scored 14 points and Vehnjamin Maximo added 13 markers as La Salle-Greenhills routed Lourdes School of Mandaluyon­g, 86-45, to rule the Seaoil NBTC 12-U National Championsh­ip at Xavier School over the weekend.

Miguel Santos had 12 points, Manuel Lim chipped in 10 markers while the trio of Sebastian Locsin, Julian Jugo and Dominic Panlilio combined for 24 points to underscore La SalleGreen­hills’ balanced offensive sock.

Vincent Raguero led Lourdes School with 16 points while Diego Ignacio backed him up with 10 markers but no other Lourdes player turned in double figure scores.

Named Finals MOP was Santos while Raquero took the Best Defensive Player award. Andrei Cari–o of Escuela de Sophia of Caloocan copped the season MOP honors.

Making it to the Mythical 10 were Anfernee Estacio (Lourdes), Paolo Cataga (Chiang Kai Shek), Julian Jugo (LSGH), Ryan Yu (Xavier), Isaiah Yarre (Don Bosco Technical Institute), Andrei Cari–o (Escuela de Sophia), Yves Lazaro (Ateneo), Ludgerio Dazo IV (Ateneo), Jan Michael Ramirez (Sacred Heart Academy of Pasig) and Ricardo Luna V (School of St. Anthony).

La Salle-Greenhills advanced to the finals by routing Ateneo, 73-44, in the Final Four, while Lourdes School turned back Escuela de Sophia, 65-62.

All four National Capital Region semifinali­sts have qualified for the Seaoil NBTC 12-U National Championsh­ip set May 1618 at Philsports Arena in Pasig. They will be joined by Sacred Heart-Ateneo de Cebu, Xavier University-Ateneo de Cagayan, Maryhill College of Lucena Cityu, and Divine World Academy of Dagupan City.

Meanwhile, All-Star balloting has started for the Seaoil NBTC 12-U Elite Training Camp set May 21-23 at Colegio San Agustin.

The top 40 players who will be joining the camp will be trained by top coaches in Philippine basketball alongside program director Eric Altamirano and camp facilitato­r Alex Compton.
