Kandori for Dimaporos' polls win
The mayor in Sultan Naga Dimaporo of Lanao del Norte hosted a “Kandori” for the Dimaporos who won in the just concluded midterm elections in all three posts of this province.
Kandori is a thanksgiving ceremony given to noble or special Muslim leaders or people characterized by hearty foods for their distinguished accomplishment of their areas.
At the same time, Congressman-elect Abdullah “Bobby” Dimaporo appealed to all politicians and the voting public to put a stop to illegal poll activities, particularly vote-buying in response to the massive vote-buying observed in some coastal towns of the province.
“Despite the massive vote-buying conducted by our opponents, we are happy that the people gave great importance to the good public service and leadership we provided the province through the years and because of this Team Dimaporo won convincingly in the last election,” Dimaporo said.
In his speech, Dimaporo blamed vote-buying as one of the main causes of corruption and hinders genuine progress in any community.
Early in the campaign, Team Dimaporo has consistently called for a clean and honest election during their political rallies in dierent towns of Lanao del Norte.
“So many hurtful personal attacks were hurled against us. My family became the victim of black propaganda. Yet, in spite of this our loyal supporters who know the truth continue to stand with us and gave us another overwhelming victory,” Rep. Imelda Dimaporo said.
Re-elected as provincial governor for his third term is Gov. Khalid Dimaporo. Also re-elected as representative of the 1st district is Congresswoman Imelda Quibranza-Dimaporo who will start her second term on July 1.
