Trike driver, 76, kills pedestrian, 69

A 76-year-old tricycle driver was arrested yesterday morning after he hit a 69-year-old woman who was walking to the Immaculate Concepcion Church in Barangay Malinao, Pasig City yesterday.

Rosalie Aduviso died while being treated at the Pasig City General Hospital following the accident. She fell to the pavement headfirst after Alberto Federigan hit her with his tricycle at around 6:30 a.m., city police chief Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza said.

Federigan said he tried to avoid hitting Aduviso as she was walking along Kaginhawahan street. Rariza ordered Federigan charged with reckless imprudence resulting in homicide. –
