Announced early this year, the Lenovo K900 was one of the most anticipated devices from the leading IT company. The hype was fueled by news that it was the first smartphone to utilize Intel’s new Atom processor, the Z2580, based on the “Clovertrail” architecture that is meant for use in more powerful devices. The highpowered processor allowed the K900 to breeze through benchmark tests—proof that Lenovo is indeed a serious contender in the smartphone market.

On the outside, the K900 takes a minimalist yet industrial approach. The back cover brandishes a two-toned combination of polycarbonate and brushed stainless steel, with screws visible in its unibody casing. It features sturdy Gorilla Glass II on its multi-touch-capable screen. Buttons on the side including power/standby and volume controls provide quick access for users.

The K900 boasts a 5.5-inch screen with one of the highest pixel densities among current smartphone models at 400+ppi. Its large screen real estate is complemented by its sleek profile that’s only 6.9mm thin and weighs a mere 162 grams that offers true mobility for today’s power users.

Running on the latest Android interface (4.2.1 “Jelly Bean”), the K900 is quick and very responsive, with no lags or stuttering even with multiple applications open. The Z2580 chipset coupled with PowerVR SGX544 graphics core gives users solid control and smooth playability from basic to graphics-intensive games, such as Angry Birds to full-3D-environment titles like Assassin’s Creed. Movies play seamlessly on the gorgeous, gigantic screen in full HD (1920x1080p resolution), making long road trips an enjoyable experience.

Shutterbugs and mobile videographers are also in for an incredible ride with its dual cameras: a stellar 13MP main at the back and a 2MP camera in front. Sporting a back-illuminated Sony BSI sensor and a fast f1.8 aperture, it rivals good dedicated cameras available today. Uploading photos to different social media is also a breeze thanks to its array of connectivity options, from Bluetooth v3.0 to USB On-the-Go (OTG) that allows the phone to use a flash drive for instant access to data.

Pushing the limits with amazing features and outstanding performance, the K900 is a sure geek-pleaser. The Lenovo flagship phone is set to wow smartphone fans and take the market by storm this month.
