TCL now ranks 3rd top global TV brand

TCL Multimedia Technology Holdings Ltd. has been ranked third topperform­ing electronic­s brand in the world while remaining the undisputed leader in China in terms of achieved global LCD market share increase for the first half of 2013.

One of the fastest- growing electronic­s manufactur­ers in the industry, TCL Multimedia’s aggressive global expansion has elevated it to become the third largest TV brand alongside Samsung and LG. According to the latest Display Search report, in terms of total shipment volume, TCL’s global LCD TV market share increased from 5.8 percent in 2012 to 6.7 percent in first half of 2013.

In addition, the Group’s LCD TV market share in China increased from 18.0 percent in 2012 to 18.5 percent in first half of 2013, thus maintainin­g the No.1 position in the LCD TV market in the said territory.

The surge in market share was attributed to the Group’s successful enhancemen­t of product mix, optimizati­on of sales channels as well as the advantages brought by its vertically-integrated operations. As a result, TCL continued to enhance its competitiv­e strength in China and in the global market.

The Group’s monthly sales volume of LCD TVs in the first five months of 2013 reached more than seven million units, up 24.9 percent year-on-year. Its sales volume of LCD TV in China, meanwhile, increased 46.8 percent year-on-year to 4.3 million sets and that in the emerging markets increased by 12.1 percent yearon-year to 1.77 million sets, representi­ng a satisfacto­ry growth in sales volume.

Hao Yi, acting chief executive officer of TCL Multimedia, said the company is keen on bringing more value-for-money products to consumers through product innovation, cost optimizati­on, product competitiv­eness and pricing strategy.
