Pilipinas Global Network Limited (PGNL), TV5’s international arm, expands its reach in Canada as it partners with major cable service providers to bring TV5’s diverse range of quality programs to more Filipino homes.

Filipinos in Victoria, Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton and Winnipeg can now enjoy watching all the shows on Kapatid TV5 via Shaw Cable. On the other hand, those who live in Ontario and Quebec can tune in to both Kapatid TV5 and Aksyon TV International via Rogers Cable and Bell Fibe. The channels are available on emerging IPTV platforms such as NextTV, JuanTV and Turbo TV.

TV5’s Entertainment shows are seen on Kapatid TV5 while Sports, News and Information programs are aired on AksyonTV International. These two channels have been gaining ground as they engage more Filipino audiences worldwide. With the recent expansion, Filipinos in Canada will get to watch TV5’s exciting lineup of new shows, including Sharon Cuneta’s Madam Chairman, Joey de Leon’s Wow Mali Pa Rin, the Derek Ramsay-Alice Dixson-Ritz Azul starrer For Love or Money, Martin Escudero’s HIV-themed drama Positive, Gelli de Belen and Tintin Bersola-Babao’s

Face the People and Sharon and Ogie Alcasid’s The Mega and the Songwriter.

Aksyon TV International is home to the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), National College Athletic Association (NCAA) and United Football League, thus giving Filipino sports enthusiasts the opportunity to remain abreast with the local sports scene.

“Canada is an important region for us. Our entry into this progressive market is also a testament to our commitment to provide new and relevant content for our kababayan,” says Claro Carmelo Ramirez, president of PGNL/TV5 International.
