The Many Faces of the Teacher search on

-

The Bato Balani Foundation Inc (BBFI) in cooperation with Diwa Learning Systems Inc. once again opens its search for educators who not only excel inside the classroom, but also uses their influence to bring about positive change for students, fellow teachers, or the local community.

Now on its 11th year, The Many Faces of the Teacher ( TMFT) is an advocacy campaign aimed to extol the virtues of teaching by providing role models who inspire excellence.

Last year, it honored Teodora Balangcod, PhD of Baguio City, Randy Halasan of Davao City, JesusmInsilada EdD, and Julieta Santillana-Serrano of Iloilo.

Dr. Balangcod not only has spent decades imparting knowledge on plant life and the environment but also applied these for the good of the community. Halasan has accomplished so much for the community where he teaches, and which he reaches via seven hours of travel, with four hours on foot. Dr. Insilada, a teacher and prolific author, makes preserving the local language his bigger responsibility. Ms. Serrano is a staunch advocate of special education and has given special attention to students with special needs.

The search is open to teachers of all ages, who are actively teaching in private or public primary, elementary or secondary schools, colleges, and universities.
