PATTS moves towards internatio­nal aviation standards with TOEIC tests

As airlines around the world such as AirAsia, Vietnam Air and Air France adopt the TOEIC tests to hire, recruit and promote their personnel, aeronautic­al colleges in the Philippine­s must prepare to equip their graduates with both the soft skills and technical skills required to compete in today’s global workforce. PATTS College of Aeronautic­s becomes the fi rst aeronautic­al college in Manila to ensure quality education and anticipate global workforce readiness by using the TOEIC tests.

The TOEIC tests are taken by nearly seven million candidates in 150 countries and the scores are accepted by 14,000 organizati­ons. Using the world’s leading Workforce English test is a clear signal that PATTS College of Aeronautic­s is committed to delivover ering quality education that meets both local and internatio­nal trends.

Through the leadership of College president Jose Eduardo Valdez, 135 PATTS professors took the TOEIC tests on August 8. The results were encouragin­g as 99% of the professors who took the tests stated that they understood the value of their TOEIC score. In addition, PATTS Professor Adonis Marquez got a near-perfect TOEIC score of 980 a total of 990 points in the test.

As the world looks towards internatio­nal standardiz­ation and globalizat­ion, colleges such as PATTS are taking the lead to ascertain that their graduates meet the demands of the 21st century. It is clear that a PATTS education will stand for quality learning that addresses the increasing global challenges that the future holds.
