2 QC cops face extortion raps

wo Que on City policemen are facing extortion charges filed by a couple they accused of indecency while inside a parked car in arangay New Manila uesday night.

Que on City Police District director Chief Superinten­dent Richard Albano identified them as Police Officers 1 Ronald Que Englis, 39, and Roland Roman Mansibang, 28, both detailed at QCPD Station11.

he two policemen are facing complaints for robbery-extortion filed against them by a couple whose identities were withheld.

Chief nspector Rodel Marcelo, head of the QCPD’s Criminal nvestigati­on and Detection nit, said the incident happened at past 9 p.m.

he couple was inside a car parked along 8th Street in arangay New Manila when the policemen allegedly approached them and pounded on the car’s window.

Marcelo said Mansibang allegedly told the man to get off the car and asked for his driver’s license.

According to the couple, the policemen told them they would be charged with public scandal with a fine of P20,000.

he policemen allegedly threatened them that members of the media would publish the incident if he would not pay the amount.

hen the man said he did not have enough money, Mansibang allegedly asked how much he had. e said he only had P4,000 and then he was told the incident would be reported to the police station.

Moments later, a police vehicle arrived with four uniformed police officers on board.

Marcelo said two of the policemen allegedly pressured the man to withdraw from an A M booth.

he man then asked his girlfriend to contact Chief Superinten­dent Reuben heodore Sindac, spokesman for the Philippine National Police, who incidental­ly is a family friend.

he man said they proceeded to reenhills own Center along ranada street. hile trying to find a parking space, the woman was able to contact Sindac who instructed her to get the names of the policemen.

hen Mansibang heard the name of the police general being mentioned, he ordered the man to stop the car.

he two policemen refused to give their names. hey again threatened to take the couple to the QCPD Station 11 in alas when the woman started taking pictures of them.

Mansibang eventually returned the man’s driver’s license.

After a few minutes, Sindac and the couple’s families arrived in the area. –
